Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker displayed matching black skirts during their first Met Gala red carpet together on Monday. Meanwhile, Kylie Jenner caught everyone's attention as she arrived in a bizarre ruffled wedding gown.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is popularly known by many as the "Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets" and referred to as “fashion's biggest night out”. Kardashian looked sexy and classy with her floor-length skirt, a long-sleeve white crop top, and pointed-toe black heels. She had her dark brunette tresses pinned into a chic updo and finished with smokey eye makeup for the night.
Meanwhile, her partner, Barker sported a dapper look in a pleated kilt, paired with a white shirt, extra long sleeves, a black jacket, pants, and dark shades. The soon-to-be married couple shared a passionate kiss as they posed for photographers.
Kardashian, 43, and Barker, 46, were photographed earlier in the day as they left their New York hotel and headed to the event. The reality TV star also shared on her Instagram stories their preparations for the event; she posted a picture of what appeared to be some last-minute adjustments on her clothing.
Meanwhile, Kardashian's sister, Jenner, arrived in an unusual white ruffled wedding dress at the star-studded night. The 24-year-old makeup mogul's raven hair flowed out from under a white veiled baseball cap, which she wore backward for a sportier look. She wore a floor-length skirt and a T-shirt-inspired mesh top; under the mesh was a ruched white spaghetti strap bodice with a sweetheart neckline.
The word "OFF" was printed across the front, suggesting the dress was designed by the late Virgil Abloh's Off-White label. Jenner also wore transparent heels and a pair of dangly earrings.
The big night is annually held on the first Monday in May to raise money for the Costume Institute in New York City. Last year's event was moved to September due to the pandemic. The 2022 dress code is "gilded glamor" to match the theme of "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," a continuation of last year's "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion."
Tickets for the event can reportedly cost up to $35,000 each, while the prices for a table range from $200,000 to $300,000. Last year's Met Gala collected $16.4 million for the Met's Costume Institute.
