Memorial Day 2020 is here and while you are celebrating the holiday, take some time to remember those who have died in the service of the United States Armed Forces. Memorial Day normally marks the start of summer, and with that comes beers, patriotic-themed drinks, and of course barbeques. But before you get too caught up in the fun of the holiday weekend, and of course your Monday off from work, take a moment to honor fallen soldiers with words of commemoration through a Memorial Day prayer.
These simple, yet sweet prayers, remind us all that the members of the U.S. Armed Forces sacrifice for not only our freedom but our safety. These words of solace can be said aloud with the group you are celebrating with or over a toast to Memorial Day, either way, share one of these prayers for a fallen soldier, and help guide others that are still currently deployed fighting for the United States.
Brave warriors should fate find us in battle, May our cause be just. May our leaders have a clear vision. May our courage not falter. May we be triumphant an earn victory as we show mercy to our enemies.
May our efforts bring lasting peace. May our sacrifice be always appreciated by those we serve. May we return to our loved ones unharmed. Should we be harmed, may our wounds heal. Should we perish in the struggle, may God embrace us and find for us a place in His Kingdom.
Lord, I ask for courage. Courage to face and conquer my own fears... Courage to take me where others will not go. I ask for strength... Strength of body to protect others... Strength of spirit to lead others. I ask for dedication... Dedication to my job, to do it well... Dedication to my country, to keep it safe. Give me Lord, concern... For those who trust me and compassion for those who need me. And please Lord..... Through it, all be at my side.
Blessed is the hour in which Jesus Christ was born; Blessed is the hour in which Jesus Christ was born; Blessed is the hour in which Jesus Christ was born; Blessed is the hour in which Jesus Christ has arisen from the dead;
Blessed are these three over thy gun, no shot or bullet Shall fly toward me, and neither my skin, nor my hair, Nor my blood, nor my flesh is injured by them, And that no kind of weapon or metal shall do me any harm, So surely as the Mother of God shall not bring forth another son. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, amen.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. Jesus Christ is the true salvation; Jesus Christ governs, Reigns, defeats and conquers every enemy, visible or invisible;
Jesus, be with me at all times, forever and ever, Upon all roads and ways, upon the water and the land, On the mountain and in the valley, in the house and in the yard,
In the whole world wherever I am, stand, run, ride, or drive; Whether I sleep or wake, eat or drink, There be thou also, Lord Jesus Christ, at all times, late and early, Every hour, every moment; and in all my goings in or out.
Your five holy red wounds, oh Lord Jesus Christ, may they guard me against all firearms, be they secret or public, That they cannot injure me or do me any harm whatever, In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
May Jesus Christ, with his guardianship and protection, Shield me, [name], always from the daily commission of sins, Worldly injuries, and injustice, from contempt, from pestilence And other diseases, from fear, torture, and great suffering, From all evil intentions, from false tongues and the words of fools; And that no kind of firearms can inflict any injury to my body, do thou take care of me.
And that no band of thieves, murderers, bombers, or evil spirits Secretly enter my house or premises, nor break in; may the dear Virgin Mary, and all children who are in heaven with God, In eternal joys, protect and guard me against them; And the glory of God the Father shall strengthen me, The wisdom of God the Son shall enlighten me, And the grace of God the Holy Ghost shall empower me From this hour unto all eternity. Amen!
A Prayer for The United States of America
God, I come to you on behalf of the United States of America. That she would turn from her wickedness and return to her creator. That you would light a fire and passion among this generation for a Holiness reformation that would transcend all generations, all sin, and all corruption.
We cry out for forgiveness for America and speak grace, mercy, and the blood of Jesus Christ over her.
Restore America to her biblical foundations that will cultivate an atmosphere of Godly righteousness among the government, the American people, the economy, and each and every American family.
That America may reach her full potential as a Godly Nation and become a beacon of light to all other Nations.
“Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Please place a hedge of protection around each and every one. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.”
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the highest shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the highest, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
Grant, O Lord, Thy protection And in protection, strength And in strength, understanding And in understanding, knowledge And in knowledge, the knowledge of justice And in the knowledge of justice, the love of it And in the love of it, the love of all existences And in that love, the love of spirit and all creation.
