Social media erupts with #WhatICanAffordNow memes as users mock rising costs amid potential tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods that could worsen inflation. X

The internet is at it again. On Saturday, X exploded with memes under the hashtag #WhatICanAffordNow, as users vented their frustrations over rising costs.

"My new healthcare plan #WhatICanAffordNow," posted one user, attaching a photo of a children's playset of medical supplies.

Another shared a meme of someone opting for a tow truck instead of an ambulance to showcase skyrocketing healthcare expenses.

Others took direct shots at Trump's campaign-trail promises, with one user posting his words, "When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one," next to a GIF of Pinocchio.

"#WhatICanAffordNow A chicken so I don't have to buy eggs," another user sarcastically noted.

The trending hashtag comes amid growing concerns over inflation and potential new tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods, which could further raise grocery prices.

The White House confirmed plans to impose a 25% tariff on imports from these neighboring countries, according to CNN. Since Mexico supplies much of the U.S.'s fruits and vegetables and Canada leads in meat and grain exports, consumers could see an even greater strain on their wallets.
