Thomas Markle was reportedly left embarrassed after daughter Meghan Markle's surprise interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." He claimed that she insulted the British Royal Family and demanded for the Duchess of Sussex to be stripped of her royal title.
Meghan's estranged father, a retired Hollywood lighting director, labeled his daughter's appearance as a "stupid stunt" and said she had "insulted the Queen, the royal family and the British people,"according to The Sun.
During Meghan's second high-profile interview following her and Prince Harry's appearance on Oprah Winfrey's show, Meghan interacted with street vendors while dancing and singing in front of them. On the street prank segment of the show, she talked to the vendors while referring to herself as "mommy."
"She made a complete fool of herself and should lose her title. I love my daughter but her performance was ridiculous" he added.
Thomas, 77, who lives 70 miles away from his daughter's Montecito mansion, was also left feeling embarrassed after watching her first bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
In her guest appearance on Ellen's show last week, Meghan shared about her Hollywood auditions. She stated that she used a very old Ford Explorer Sport wherein the key stopped working on the driver's side. She had to open the trunk and climb in, pull the door shut behind and crawl all over the seats to get out.
However, Thomas commented on Meghan's story and said that the vehicle was not a beat-up old car as described by her. He also added that the duchess got a lot of help during the beginning of her career in Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle, has claimed that the "Suits" star may have had a "clear agenda" to return to America after marrying Harry.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, Samantha, 56, said that Meghan decided not to renounce her American citizenship upon marrying into the British Royal Family in 2018.
"In terms of ongoing duty with the Royal Family, especially in a marriage, I can see going into a marriage and thinking 'Well if the marriage doesn't work out, yeah, I've still got family and you know, I was trained in my career, I've still got my career' but to actually go into a marriage and say, 'You know what, I'm married now, that's the end of it, I'm giving up my career everything because this is now my commitment."
Samantha believes that her sister has "clear indicators" to "keep an oar in the water in the United States." She insisted that she heard that Queen Elizabeth was not aware of it.
Meghan and Harry stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020. Buckingham Palace later announced that the couple would lose their royal titles.
