Remember Meghan Markle’s estranged half-brother Thomas Markle Jr.? He wrote a letter to Prince Harry in April 2018 to ‘warn’ him that his then-upcoming marriage to Meghan would be “the biggest mistake in royal wedding history.” This action of his ensured that he wasn’t invited to the nuptials.
Now, the news is that he is stealing from the royal family...in a new Big Apple advertisement that he is starring in.
In the 30-second advertisement for Queens-based wholesaler Classic New York Beer, Thomas Markle Jr., in an all-black getup, is silently walking through “Buckingham Palace” with the intention of stealing from the Royal Family. As soon as he sees Queen Elizabeth II’s crown, he takes it but soon his eyes land upon another precious item -- a cabinet of Classic New York Beer and he nabs the bottles as well.
Right then, a royal guard runs in to apprehend the thief. Seeing him, Markle drops the crown but refuses to part with the beer bottles. Using a diversion tactic, he throws down one bottle towards the guard, who finds the opportunity to get a taste of the royal brew too good, starts gulping it down.
We then see the Duchess of Sussex, portrayed by Renee Wood, eagerly waiting for her brother in a Rolls Royce getaway car. On being asked if he managed to get the ‘jewels’, Markle presents the two bottles of Classic New York Beer. “Priceless!” the fake Meghan says.
The advertisement has been written by the company’s CEO, Billie Mitchell who had met Markle at a celebrity boxing match in Atlantic City six months ago, along with the company’s founder and president Sir Gary Kong.
“Gary and I just loved Tom’s energy and humor,” Mitchell told The New York Post. “He really is a good guy who gets a bum rap in the press because he is estranged from his sister who is now a ‘royal.’ ”
For Thomas, the advertisement may become the way to mend his relation with Meghan.
“It would be great to get together and have a Classic New York Beer,” he said. “After all, in the ad, she said it was priceless.”
