As March 31 looms closer, Harry and Meghan gearing up for their much-publicized exit from public life as senior royal members of the British Royal Family. Of late, the couple has engaged in a series of high-profile engagements, wrapping up their last duties as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined the Queen for a church service in Windsor
After the big and controversial announcement on January 6 of the couple quitting as senior members of the Royal Family, since which the royal family has been under the scrutiny of tabloids more than ever, Meghan, 38, met the Queen, 93, for the first time on March 8.
The couple drove to the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Great Park to attend church service along with the Queen, one of the final engagements of Harry and Meghan, who are currently visiting the UK to carry out their last duties as working royals. The couple was not accompanied by baby Archie, who has been left at home back in Canada, much to the disappointment of the Queen as she won’t be able to see her grandson for a long time.
“It was a really sweet gesture that the Queen asked them to church. It's telling in the sense that these two are still her family. And as a family, they all love each other,” shared a source.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also attended the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall recently
Prince Harry attended the event at the South Kensington venue in his role as Captain-General of the Royal Marines, which he inherited from his 98-year-old grandfather Prince Philip in 2017. This was the final time that the Duke attended an engagement in his official Royal Marines capacity as it is also included in all the royal titles he will be giving up.
The couple got a warm welcome by the five members of the Royal Marines and were then taken to the Royal Marines Association - The Royal Marines Charity to enjoy a night of musical entertainment, during which the members of the Royal Marines showcased their musicianship.
