Meghan Markle has been compared to Princess Diana ever since she got engaged to Prince Harry. However, a royal expert said that the two women are nothing alike.

While speaking with Yahoo’s “The Royal Box,” Jennie Bond said that Meghan Markle and Princess Diana are two very different women. “Much more mature, much more knowledge of her own role, and wishes and causes she wishes to espouse,” she said. “She is much readier for her role than Diana ever was,” she added.

Bond also posed a warning to the “Suits” alum and said that she should quit playing games with the press. Prince Harry’s wife should also distance herself from the celebrity expectations she built up as an actress in the United States.

“I think I would suggest to Meghan that she tries not to play any games with the press, tries not to be too celebrity,” Bond said. “That doesn’t go down well with the public. And to try to ignore she is getting quite a lot of flack from a lot of directions.”

Earlier this year, Meghan and Prince Harry were criticized after they announced their decision to keep the birth of their son private. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex refused to participate in the traditional photo call that usually takes place just hours after a royal baby is born.

Princess Diana started the tradition when she gave birth to Prince William and Prince Harry at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing. Kate Middleton followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps with the birth of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Following Prince Harry and Meghan’s announcement, royal fans and critics vented their frustration on social media. “They want royal privileges, taxpayers to fork out millions for their cottage renovation, security, pay for them and the baby for life but don’t want to share details until they are ready,” one person wrote. “Want privacy, sod off and fund yourselves,” the critic added.

“Shame they didn’t do the same with the wedding … you can’t live the privileged life that WE pay for and cut us out when you choose … oh, Harry!!” another person commented. “What have you done,” the critic added.
