Univision is getting ready to premiere a new talent show called "Me Pongo De Pie." The singing competition show will pair a parent with their kid and the object of the game is to make the judges give them a standing ovation. There will be three judges to impress and six captains that will do everything in their powers to make their team the best that they can be. If this format sounds strangely familiar, it's because it seems to be a complete rip-off of "Va Por Ti." They might as well just called it "Va Por Ti: Season 2." The difference this time is that the show is being produced for a Mexican audience first and not for the U.S. as the original show. The twist this time is that it's a parent-kid duo instead of solo artists. Either way, the talent that producers have brought together for this show is uncanny and these are the 11 reasons to watch:
1. Galilea Montijo Is Back: Our favorite television host is back to helm the talent show competition. Just like on "Va Por Ti" she will guide the viewers through this elaborate game that will hopefully give spotlight to a new star.
2. Vanessa Huppenkothen: The Televisa Deporters reporter that has made headlines for possibly being linked to Cristiano Ronaldo will be Galilea's sidekick. Vanessa will take care of being backstage with the contestants as they get ready to perform on-stage and after their performances.
3. Espinoza Paz: One of the judges of this competition is Espinoza Paz. The "El Próximo Viernes" singer is back at the judges chair just like on "La Voz México" to bring in his expertise.
4. Cristian Castro: We are excited to see Cristian Castro as one of the judges of this talent show. His experience in the entertainment business will surely help out contestants. Plus we want to see his interaction with Galilea Montijo. Remember? He used to have a thing for her.
5. Ana Torroja: The Mecano lead singer has crossed the Atlantic and bring in her expertise to guide the aspiring singers into this new venture. Having her on set adds a major plus to the show.
6. Noel Schajris: The former Sin Bandera member is back on a reality show. We all remember his insights on "Pequeños Gigantes," and he will bring back his charm to "Me Pongo De Pie."
7. Río Roma: The duo has captivated us with "Hoy Es Un Buen Día," the song that was the central theme of "El Color De La Pasión." These guys have talent and we are excited to see what helpful tips they give the participants.
8. Pee Wee: It's been a while since we last heard of Pee Wee and is now back on this talent show as a captain. He will guide his team to victory and share his experience in the music business.
9. Paty Cantú: Paty is not only a successful singer, she is also a successful songwriter. With that duality, she knows a lot about music and as a captain on "Me Pongo De Pie" she will bring insight like no other.
10. María León: We all enjoyed María on "Bailando Por Un Sueño" and now on "Me Pongo De Pie" we will enjoy her doing another one of her passions, singing. Many of you may not know but León was discovered on a reality show called "Popstarts." She was one of the chosen girls to form a popband. Being that she has experience in reality shows, as a captain she will be able to connect with her team on another level.
11. Ha-Ash: The sister singing duo have been in the business for a long time and their knowledge of music is vast that will surely help out their team.
"Me Pongo De Pie" premieres on Sunday, April 19 at 8pm on Canal de las Estrellas in Mexico. On Univision, the show premieres on Sunday, May 3 at 8pm ET/PT. Who are you most excited to see on this show?
