A Massachusetts high school student was arrested for making terrorist threats after a classmate notified school authorities of the threats. Cameron D'Ambrosio, 18, of Methuen, Mass, allegedly used Facebook and other social media to post general threats of violence against his peers. Not mentioning any individual in particular, D'Ambrosio's posts included a caption that read in-part "F*** politics, F*** Obama and F*** the government", according to Breitbart News.
Cameron D'Ambrosio also created a rap lyric that referenced the Boston marathon bombing and the White House. Joe Solomon, chief of police in Methuen, said his department took the alleged terrorist threats "very seriously": "The threat was disturbing enough for us to act and I think our officers did the right thing".
D'Ambrosio also reportedly had Satanic images and a US-Marshals-style faux Wanted Poster of himself, reading "Dead or Alive". A student alerted school officials of some of the posts that he found sourced to D'Ambrosio and the administration notified police of the incident. "Once again, we have to commend the Methuen High School Student who came forward," Superintendent Judy Scannell said, citing the public warning "if you see something, say something."
The latter has become an important phrase throughout much of America's infrastructure following attacks on Americans over the last decade-plus. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has even lent her voice to the message played within WMATA's Washington, D.C. MetroRail system.
D'Ambrosio is reportedly now behind bars in Massachusetts on $1 million bail.
