"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" has been renewed for a fourth season, but that does not mean we are any less worried about the season three finale, which the network is teasing will have a shocking character death.
When we last turned into the Marvel drama, Elena also known as "Yo-Yo" (played by Natalia Cordova-Buckley) paid a visit to Mack (Henry Simmons) to reflect on the day's events. Elena then gives him her cross necklace, which as seen in a flash-forward is floating in the cabin of a vessel in outer space.
This could indicate that Mack is the agent that will meet his end in the season three finale, however, Marvel has been releasing remembrance videos for some of the original cast of "Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD" in advance of the two-hour season finale.
Furthermore, from previous reports it sounds like one of the main cast members will meet his end. So it is safe to assume that the death will happen to Daisy (Chloe Bennet), Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) or Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).
Marvel is also teasing the season finale releasing an R.I.P. memorial video for each member of Coulson's team. So far, there are videos for Coulson, Daisy, Melinda May, Jenna Simmons, Lincoln Campbell and Mack. Check out the videos over at Marvel's YouTube page.
Tthe synopsis for the season three finale in The Futon Critic reads: "It's a showdown a season in the making as S.H.I.E.L.D. takes on Hive, and when his master plan is finally revealed, the team must spring into action. Who will live, and who will die?"
The two-hour season finale "Absolution"/"Ascension" will air May 17 on ABC. Check out the promo trailer below along with a sneak peek clip.
