Casting has started for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Season 3. The production team is currently looking for penthouse party goers as background actors for the upcoming season renewal.
The casting team for the third season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” will open its doors for Playboy bunnies and Hollywood-industry-type roles. The actors must have no visible tattoos to qualify for the vacant positions.
The screening will be held in New York City on July 26, 2018, but the exact place is yet to be announced. Aspirants will undergo wardrobe fitting before the casting team awards these roles. Successful applicants would then be awarded $210 for 12 hours’ worth of work. This is also the normal rate paid to union actors. Those who wish to join the cast may apply through Backstage’s official website.
Rachel Brosnahan has also confirmed her role for the series’ third season. Brosnahan has renewed her contract with Amazon Studios and would be paid triple her salary in the previous season.
“A breakout star, Rachel has infused the role of Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel with charm, wit, and a little bit of chutzpah that brings the world of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel to life,” Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke told Deadline in an interview. “We are thrilled to expand our relationship with her as an actress and a producer, and I can’t wait to see what new characters and stories she creates for our Amazon Prime Video customers.” she added.
Brosnahan, on the other hand, shared her gratitude for the professional support she continues to receive from Amazon Studios. She hopes to amplify the production team’s stories and storytellers who have not received recognition from the mainstream narrative in the past.
Brosnahan has been acknowledged for her role in the series with two Critics’ Choice Awards. She also received an Emmy nomination for her role in the Netflix series “House Of Cards” and acted in the WGN American drama “Manhattan.”
She recently finished filming for “Ironbark,” where she worked alongside Daniel Craig and David Oyelowo in Sam Gold’s off-Broadway production of “Othello.” At present, Brosnahan is excited to explore new pathways with Amazon in the upcoming “The Marvelous Mrs Maisel” Season 3.
