A married father had terrible child abuse photographs on his gadgets after paying a teenager to see him and asking for a snapshot of her feet.
Austin Rickerby had signed up for a website under the alias "mystical gentleman" with the hopes of meeting adults for sex. Still, one of the people he chatted with was only 14 years old.
Despite this, he continued to communicate sexually with her and met her three times, although no sexual activity was reported.
Hundreds of incident photographs were discovered on his devices after a police probe.
The acts were discovered when police had concerns about the 14-year-welfare, old's Newcastle Crown Court heard this week.
According to Chronicle Live, the teen joined the website and pretended to be 18 at first.
She then adjusted it to 16 and 14 at various points.
In August 2018, after police became engaged, the man's residence was searched, and obscene photos of minors aged six to seventeen were discovered.
Nick Adlington, prosecuting, said per Daily Record : "[The suspect] continued to communicate with her and received [several] pictures from her and had a sexual conversation."
Adlington added: "[Rickerby] asked if she would participate in a foot fetish. He asked for a picture of her feet. He met her three times."
Rickerby admitted to having sexual contact with the child, creating indecent photos of a minor on three occasions, possessing extreme pornography, and possessing forbidden images.
The court heard that 70 of the most severe photos were classified as category A, 23 as category B, 93 as category C, 15 as extreme pornography, and 23 as prohibited.
Rickerby told police that he had ordered pornographic DVDs from a newspaper and later discovered that some of them had indecent photos. He said he planned to turn them in to police, but he was caught before he could.
He also stated that he was "interested in animation" and that he had glanced at the cartoon material without realizing it was prohibited.
According to the court, the illicit content was discovered on various devices, notably his work laptop and his wife's computer.
The 43-year-old was given a 12-month sentence suspended for 18 months, as well as a three-month curfew and £500 ($650) in costs.
He will also be required to sign the sex offenders registry for ten years and will be subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
