The latest news circling around the sport concerns a possible coaching change involving one of the best club's in the world.

According to ESPN, Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini has a verbal agreement to become the next leader of Manchester City. Former Man City manager Roberto Mancini was relieved of his duties earlier this season and it is expected that once Malaga finishes their La Liga contests, Pellegrini will give further thought to his coaching future.

Not afraid to take his previous discussions with the Premier League club public, Pellegrini announced that there is strong interest from both sides and that he does in fact look forward to taking over the club next season.

"I have a verbal agreement with them and I hope it is carried out," the 50-year-old Santiago, Chile native said to reporters. "As of today, I don't have a signed contract. It is true that Manchester City have shown a lot of interest that I become their coach and I have had conversations with them but until things have been signed, you cannot say everything is completely done."

While Manchester City is clearly the club most interested in acquiring the Malaga manager, Pellegrini told reporters that there were other teams across Europe with interest in his services but he is excited about the potential of joining Man City.

"Italy was a possibility too, so was France," Pellegrini told The Guardian. "The priority for me is Manchester City. I didn't have any contact with Barcelona and I think they are doing the right thing supporting Tito Vilanova if he feels well enough. City have a great team and they have people who are very clear about where they want to go. We want to win and entertain."

A former player with the Chilean national team from 1973 until 1986, Pellegrini has become a successful yet well-traveled coach throughout his career.

Landing his first managerial job in 1987 with Universidad Chile, Pellegrini went on to enjoy success with 10 other clubs including San Lorenzo (2001-2002), Villareal (2004-2009), Real Madrid (2009-2010) and Malaga (2010-Present).
