Transfer rumors continue to heat up as some of the biggest names in soccer are constantly being whispered to be seeking new homes as the 2013-2014 season approaches. With former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho returning to English club Chelsea in early June, the Spanish power quickly replaced their three-year head coach with former Paris Saint-Germain head man Carlo Ancelotti. In another coaching move, former Bordeaux and French national manager Laurent Blanc became the new leader of PSG. While many coaching changes have been made, transfer rumors still circle around some of the most prominent players in the game as well.

One of the most sought-after players heading into next season is current Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara. Recently wowing soccer fans everywhere with a hat trick in Spain's 4-2 European Under-21 Championship victory over Italy, the 22-year-old continues to receive international recognition as he is becoming one of the top scoring midfielders in the game. With new Manchester United manager David Moyes looking to bolster his midfield line heading into next season, the acquisition of the young Thiago would certainly be a tremendous start. As the International Business Times notes, Thiago may put himself in a better spot if he joins Moyes and Man U since the Barcelona midfield is loaded with talented players in Cesc Fabregas, Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
There is also the possibility that Manchester United makes a play to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. A current member of Real Madrid with 2 years remaining on his contract, Man U may be interested in once again partnering up with the international superstar if he does not re-up with Madrid. Playing at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2009, the 28-year-old recorded 84 goals in 196 matches while leading the club to Premier League titles in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Ronaldo also helped United claim the 2007-2008 UEFA Champions League crown with a victory over Chelsea. The addition of Ronaldo would certainly boost the Man U attack line as they look to continue their league success, entering the 2013 campaign as defending champions.
While the move to acquire Thiago seems completely possible since the star's father Mazinho thinks Man U is the best situation over Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City, bringing Ronaldo back may not be in the current deck of cards. Another possible option and perhaps a more realistic option for Manchester United would be to bring in Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski has become a hot commodity lately because of his ability to dominate any game on the offensive end. Despite growing interest, Dortmund will not release the 24-year-old from the remaining one-year on his contract even though early rumors suggested he may depart the club for German rival Bayern Munich. The Telegraph reports that if the price is right for Lewandowski, a move could happen before the start of next season.
As transfer rumors continue to fly around the world of soccer, fans of the sport will continue to monitor multiple situations since some of the best players around the globe could find new homes in the near future.
