Jesus Navas has made 393 appearances during his time on Sevilla, scoring 34 goals over the course of 10 years. His long-lived stardom with the team will soon come to a close as he is transferred to Manchester City.
SkySports reported Tuesday that Navas, who is in New York City with Spain for a friendly against Ireland, successfully underwent a physical, thus completing the transfer process. The 27-year-old has won 23 Spain caps and was part of the World Cup-winning squad in 2010.
"Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step. I'm very happy with the opportunity and the decision," Navas said of the transfer. "The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast and will suit the way I play. I'm really looking forward to it."
Another of his achievements on his daunting resume include winning the UEFA Cup with Sevilla, as well as the Super Cup and two Copa del Rey titles. He is the second to be signed to Manchester City this summer following Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk last week. He hopes to improve his skill on his new team.
"I'm going to a great club in England and I want to continue developing my game there. The club has put a lot of faith in me and I want to repay them out on the pitch," Navas said.
