An Indian man has been accused of brutally strangling his own wife to death after finding out that she left the television in their home turned on overnight. The incident reportedly happened in the Chandiwadi area in Maval tehsil of Pune, India on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Yogesh Jadhav, 26, a truck driver by profession, reportedly had been harassing his 20-year-old wife Changuna Jadhav physically and mentally for months for she gave birth to a baby girl, as he really wanted a son.
His abuse reached fever pitch on Saturday, Aug. 28, with Jadhav left fuming after seeing that the television their home was accidentally left turned on all night. In a fit of rage, the suspect reportedly horrifically strangled Changuna to death before fleeing the scene, the Free Press Journal reported.
Law enforcement managed to track Jadhav's phone to arrest him and take him into custody the next day. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at Talegaon Dabhade Police Station based on the complaint by Changun’s father, MSN reported.
In a similar but unrelated incident, an Indian man named Mubarak Pasha, 30, a businessman and a resident of Tarabanahalli in Bangalore, allegedly beat his wife Shirin Banu, 28, a homemaker, to death using a wooden log after feeling disappointed that she didn't cook his favorite fried chicken on Aug. 18, in Bangalore, India.
After the fatal mauling, he allegedly proceeded to wrap the victim's body in a burlap sack and dumped it into Chikkabanavara Lake around midnight, Latin Times reported.
An investigation into the incident began after Banu's parents lodged a complaint at the local police station alerting that their daughter had been missing since the evening of Aug. 18. Following this, law enforcement started a manhunt and questioned her friends and family.
Pasha, who reportedly deliberately evaded the authorities, finally visited the police station on Aug. 23, along with his lawyer, and confessed to the murder.
“I told her to cook chicken fry on the night of Aug. 18. When I came home, I was disappointed to see there was no chicken fry. When I asked my wife, she replied arrogantly and, in a fit of rage," Pasha told the police officers. "I smashed her head using a wooden log. The children were asleep then. Wrapping the body in a gunny bag, I carried it on my bike at midnight and disposed of it in Chikkabanavara lake.”
