The long awaited revamped Superman flick "Man of Steel" is almost upon us! The film starring Henry Cavill as Superman, is set to be released on June 14. So while we think we know the age old story of Superman, "Man of Steel" is changing up the infamous comic book story and here are 4 things to know!
1. Henry Cavill who plays Clark Kent in "Man of Steel" is a huge fan of comics, so we are assuming that he will play his superhero character with pride. He has said in the past that his favorite Superman stories were "Death of Superman," "Return Of Superman," "Superman: Red Son" and "Earth-One."
2. Clark Kent aka Superman is a hero from the start! In the trailer, we catch a glimpse of a teenage Clark Kent saving children from a sinking bus.
3. The "S" on his chest does not stand for "Superman," Clark reveals to Lois Lane in the trailer that the "S" symbol means hope on his home planet of Krypton. Another big change is Superman's weakness is not Kryptonite.
4. Clark Kent is no longer going to be portrayed as a nerd before morphing into Superman. In the trailer, we see a brawny and scruffy Clark working on a fishing boat, while still unknown it also seems like we will lose Clark's reported identity. "Man of Steel" seems to be shaping up to provide a more mild-mannered, less extreme character of an all-American Superman.
