Man Stabs Girlfriend After Argument, Potential Love Triangle Suggested

A 27-year-old IT intern reportedly stabbed his medical student girlfriend in Loitoktok, Kajiado county that allegedly stemmed from an argument. Details remain scarce but there are insinuations that the whole thing may have involved a potential love triangle.

The suspect was identified as Samson Kemoi who voluntarily surrendered himself to a local police station.

The victim was identified as Miriam Chepchirchir, reportedly a student at the local Kenya Medical Training College.

Per reports, the two quarreled on Saturday (Oct. 23) morning. Kemoi ended up stabbing Chepchirchir and left her for dead.

Police accompanies Kemoi back to the scene where they found the lifeless body of the 22-year-old woman who had multiple stab wounds. The murder weapon was recovered and a survey of the area showed signs of struggle.

The body of Chepchirchir was taken to a mortuary for a postmortem exam. Kemoi, remains detained as an investigation on the matter is currently underway. A motive has yet to be established but investigators suspect a potential love triangle tied to it.

Kemoi admitted to stabbing the 22-year-old multiple times in the neck and chest.

In related news, a man was detained after allegedly killing his neighbor on Saturday over debt.

The man was identified as Evans Mutai, arrested for reportedly stabbing Festus Keter in the chest. Mutai and Keter were reportedly disputing a debt worth Sh400 after which the latter who was also the shopkeeper ended up stabbing the 35-year-old man.

The body of the deceased was reportedly found by a villager after which he immediately alerted the Chesoen police. After carrying out an initial investigation of the crime scene, they arrested the trader. Officers at the scene were also able to retrieve the murder weapon.

Mutai is set to be arraigned on a murder charge according to authorities although an official date was not mentioned.

These cases came not long after Olympian Agnes Tirop was allegedly murdered by her husband, Ibrahim Kipchumba Rotich.

Tirop was reported missing by her father on Tuesday, Oct. 12. It was only on Wednesday, Oct. 13, when Rotich called his parents informing them that he had committed the heinous crime and sought God's forgiveness.

Tirop’s body was later found with stab wounds to her abdomen. Marital issues were reportedly the reason behind the deadly end.
