A distraught father has been accused of killing his two underage children by shoving them into a well before taking his own life by jumping in front of a speeding train in Telangana, India on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
The man, identified as Bhukya Ram Kumar, a 40-year-old Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable, allegedly killed his two minor children by throwing them into an agricultural well on Tuesday morning, Jan. 11. After committing the horrific murder, Kumar killed himself by jumping in front of an oncoming train on the Anantharamu railway track in Telangana, India, the New Indian Express reported.
Kumar, who was assigned to Mumbai, India, had come home to his village on Saturday, Jan. 8. On Tuesday, Jan. 11, Kumar got into a heated argument with his wife Sirisha about her jewelry that he had mortgaged with a private finance company to make ends meet. Kumar and Sirisha reportedly got into frequent fights about the issue several times during the past week.
Following a volatile confrontation with his wife, Kumar allegedly hatched a plan to kill his children, before taking his own life. The father took his kids Hamijakshi, 8, and Jani, 4, to a nearby farm. There he allegedly proceeded to hurl them into a well. After throwing them into the reservoir, Kumar quickly fled the premises. While fleeing the scene, Kumar allegedly announced to bystanders his act of child murder.
Following this, the locals informed Kumar’s family members and the police about the incident. The authorities immediately rushed to the well and retrieved the bodies of the two children with the help of local swimmers, the Times Of India reported.
Meanwhile, the Government Railway Police found Kumar's dead body lying on the railway tracks near Anantharam, Telangana in the evening.
Following this, a case was registered under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the bodies were transported to Mahabubabad Government Area Hospital for autopsy.
