Man Murders Wife After She Rebuffed Him For Not Brushing His Teeth

A man has been accused of killing his wife after she allegedly objected to him kissing their infant son before the husband brushed his teeth in Palakkad, Kerala, India on Tuesday, June 28.

On Tuesday, when the accused, identified only as Avinash, tried to kiss his two-and-a-half-year-old son, the suspect's wife, Deepika, objected because he had yet to brush his teeth. This led to a heated argument between the couple. As their confrontation escalated Avinash, in a fit of rage, allegedly picked up a knife and attacked Deepika with it, the Deccan Herald reported.

Hearing Deepika's cries for help, the couple's neighbors rushed to their residence to help. The neighbors found Deepika lying in a pool of blood and rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, despite the efforts, Deepika subsequently succumbed to her stab injuries and died.

Following the incident, the officers took Avinash into custody and charged him with murder. Avinash was reportedly working in Bangalore, India, and had only returned to Palakkad two months ago.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a man has been accused of brutally stabbing his wife to death after she reportedly refused to cook food for him in South Delhi, India on Monday, June 13, Latin Times reported.

The suspect, identified as Dharmender, 25, who works as a cleaner at a restaurant, was reportedly an alcoholic who engaged in frequent heated arguments with his wife Renu, a domestic helper, over demands for money to buy alcohol.

On Sunday, June 12, Renu reportedly did not cook dinner for Dharmender and left for work the next day without informing him. Infuriated by his wife’s behavior, the man walked to a nearby store and bought a knife. When Renu returned home later that day, she once again refused to cook food for the suspect. Dharmender, in a fit of rage, allegedly picked up the newly purchased knife and began stabbing his wife multiple times.

Following the heinous incident, a case under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Mehrauli Police Station against the accused.
