A man has been accused of brutally killing his daughter after she failed to serve him food on time in Babugarh, Hapur district, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The accused, identified as 55-year-old Mohd Fariyad, a father of six, reportedly felt angry with his 22-year-old daughter Reshma after there was a delay in her serving him his meal. Upset over this, Fariyad started yelling at the victim, the Times Of India reported.
During the heated confrontation, Reshma reportedly made an angry retort at her father. As their argument escalated, Fariyad, in a fit of rage, allegedly picked up a sharp blade and hit his daughter with it. The victim sustained a severe injury in the attack and died at the scene.
Following the incident, local law enforcement was notified. Fariyad was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 27, and is set to be produced before the magistrate, Times Now reported.
A case under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Babugarh Police Station against the accused father. According to neighbors, Reshma was the second oldest among six siblings and was supposedly set to get married the week following the murder, on Sept. 4.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a drunk man allegedly brutally strangled his own wife to death over a slight delay in serving him dinner in Sector 141 of Central Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India on Monday, Jan. 24, Latin Times reported.
The accused, identified as Sonu Kumar, 35, a security guard by profession, engaged in frequent fights with his wife Sharda Devi, 33, after coming home drunk. On Monday, Jan. 24, Kumar allegedly threw a fit after coming home drunk, following Devi's inability to serve him dinner on time. Enraged, Kumar strangled his wife to death using a shawl he wrapped around her neck. He immediately fled the scene after the killing.
Upon hearing Devi’s screams for help, neighbors rushed to the residence and immediately rushed Devi to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, she was declared dead upon arrival at the facility.
Following the incident, the police officers registered a case against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 302 (murder) and launched an investigation into the incident.
Law enforcement later received information about Kumar’s location near Sector 142 Metro station and took him into custody.
