Man Kills Son For Coming Home Drunk By Smashing Rock Against His Head

A man allegedly brutally killed his own son as punishment for coming home drunk by repeatedly hitting him on the head with a rock at their residence in Sooranad, Kerala, India on Saturday, Feb. 26.

On late Saturday, a heated argument ensued between the 39-year-old victim and his 66-year-old father, Ibrahimkutty, after the son, Shibu, came home drunk. During the confrontation, Ibrahimkutty, in a fit of rage, allegedly bashed his son in the head with a rock and killed him, Mathrubhumi reported.

According to the police, Shibu frequently comes home in an inebriated state and instigates quarrels with his family. During these drunken altercations, Shibu allegedly attacked several of his family members and had injured them. Since Shibu's frequent assaults have become unbearable, the son's wife reportedly recently took off with their children and moved to another house.

On Saturday, frustrated by Shibu's habits Ibrahimkutty hit him in the head with a rock.

Shibu’s mother Mariyam Beevi later spotted her son lying in a pool of blood in front of their house. Following this discovery, the villagers alerted the police who quickly responded to the scene and transported the victim to a hospital for treatment. However, he was declared dead upon arrival by hospital officials.

The victim Shibu is survived by his wife Sajeena and children, Ansal and Al Ameen.

In a similar but unrelated incident, an Indian man has been accused of viciously killing his wife by repeatedly smashing her in the head and face with a rock in Nagaur district, Rajasthan, India on Oct. 14, 2021.

Sukhdev, 55, reportedly killed his wife Bhanwari Devi by repeatedly hitting her in the head with a blunt rock while they were resting under trees after working on an agricultural farm, Latin Times reported.

The incident reportedly happened on Oct. 14, 2021, while Sukhdev and Devi were working on their agricultural farm with other family members and workers. After having lunch, while they were resting under the shade of trees, Sukhdev allegedly suddenly picked up a rock and repeatedly hit Devi in the head and face with it. Following this, he took an agricultural tool and bludgeoned her to death.

The family members and other relatives who were present on the farm tried to stop Sukhdev from attacking the victim. However, they said that the accused “was uncontrollable.” After committing the horrendous crime, Sukhdev did not try to flee the area and only sat still at the scene of the killing until officers were summoned to take him into custody.
