A man has been accused of heinously killing his live-in partner by smashing her head against an electricity pole in East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, India on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The accused, identified as 32-year-old Bhoku Sabar, a habitual drunk, reportedly developed a relationship with the victim, Gulapi Sabar, after his wife left him because of his eccentric behavior. The two have since been living together at the man's residence. On Tuesday, Aug. 16, the couple reportedly got into a heated argument over a petty issue. However, as their fight escalated, Sabar, in a fit of rage, attacked Gulapi and smashed her head against an electricity pole, the Times Of India reported.
Gulapi, who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, died at the scene. Following this, the authorities were alerted about the incident. Officers arrested Sabar on Wednesday and charged him with murder, NDTV reported.
The victim, who was widowed by her first husband, has lived with Sabar for the last six months before the violent incident in Pagda village.
In a similar but unrelated incident, an Indian man has been accused of viciously killing his wife by repeatedly smashing her in the head and face with a rock in Nagaur district, Rajasthan, India on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, Latin Times reported.
The incident reportedly happened on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, while Sukhdev, 55, and his wife Bhanwari Devi were working on their agricultural farm with other family members and workers. After having lunch, while they were resting under the shade of trees, Sukhdev allegedly suddenly picked up a rock and repeatedly hit Devi in the head and face with it. Following this, he took an agricultural tool and bludgeoned her to death.
The family members and other relatives who were present on the farm tried to stop Sukhdev from attacking the victim. However, they said that the accused “was uncontrollable.”
After committing the horrendous crime, Sukhdev did not try to flee the scene and sat still at the scene of the killing until officers were summoned to the scene and took him into custody.
