A man reportedly killed himself by hanging after live-streaming the act through his Facebook account in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
James, 33, an employee of a courier service, reportedly quit the job a few days ago and left for Thiruvananthapuram in search of a job last week. Since there was no contact after he left, his father Varghese registered a man-missing case on Sunday, Oct. 2. However, on Tuesday, Oct. 4, James came on Facebook live, lamented about the issues he was having with his wife Sonya, 30, and then hung himself to death at a rubber plantation, the Times Of India reported.
On Tuesday, James was seen hanging dead in a rubber plantation plot by the plantation workers.
According to James' father Varghese, James was very upset due to the dispute with his wife. James and his wife had been living separately and his wife was not even allowing him to meet his five-year-old child. Even though James tried to resolve the issues between them, all his efforts went in vain, forcing him to take the extreme step and take his own life, the New Indian Express reported.
Following the incident, Venjaramoodu police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC for unnatural death in connection with James' death.
An autopsy was conducted at Medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram and his body was handed over to his relatives.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly killed himself by consuming acid after his wife refused to cook chicken for dinner at their home in Dundigal, Telangana, India on Saturday night, March 26, Latin Times reported.
On Saturday, Ratan Lal reportedly bought some chicken and came home, hoping that he could have his wife cook the ingredients for dinner. However, when he asked his wife to prepare the chicken, the woman refused to prepare dinner as she was still taking care of their daughter who was suffering from chickenpox.
Following a heated altercation, the man, who was upset over the incident, allegedly attempted suicide by downing a bottle of acid.
Soon after he drank the acid, Lal was rushed to a hospital for immediate treatment. However, when his condition worsened, he was transferred to another facility, where his health further deteriorated and he died on Monday night, March 28.
