A man has been accused of killing a 6-year-old boy to take revenge against his grandfather for banning him from playing the online game PUBG. The horrifying incident happened in Uttar Pradesh, India on Wednesday, July 6.

The accused, identified as 20-year-old Arun Sharma, has been arrested under charges of murder, kidnapping for ransom, and causing the disappearance of evidence after he allegedly brutally killed 6-year-old Sanskar Yadav and dumped the boy's body in a toilet outside their home to frame his grandfather Narsingh Sharma for the murder.

The suspect admitted that he held a grudge against his grandfather Narsingh after the old man had scolded and barred him from playing the online game PUBG. Sharma reportedly confessed to committing the crime in other to frame his grandad in retaliation, News18 reported.

The young victim reportedly frequented Arun's grandfather Narsingh's home for tutoring classes. When the boy did not return home on Wednesday night after a supposed tutorial session, Sanskar's parents went looking for him. The victim's family approached the police and filed a missing person report after Narsingh informed them that the boy had not come for to his house that day.

A day after Sanskar's disappearance, on Thursday, July 7, the boy's books and belongings were found scattered in a field near the Sharma’s home. When the authorities searched the belongings, they found a letter demanding a ransom of US$6,304 (500,000 Indian Rupees) for Sanskar's safe return, Times Now reported.

The officers took handwriting samples from all suspects to find out if any would match the letter. Surprisingly, Arun Sharma’s handwriting matched and he was immediately taken into custody for interrogation.

During questioning, Sharma reportedly confessed to the murder and told the officers that he kidnapped Sanskar and strangled him to death after approaching the boy after his classes. He added that he also sealed the victim's lip with adhesive to prevent him from screaming and later dumped the boy's body in a toilet outside their home to frame his grandfather for the child's death.

When asked about the motive behind the murder, Sharma said that he committed the crime as revenge against his grandfather who often scolded him for playing online games and refused to give him money to fund his gaming habit.

Following the confession, the police arrested the accused under charges of murder, kidnapping for ransom, and causing the disappearance of evidence.
