Man Ends Life After Ex-Girlfriend's Husband Threatened To Kill Himself Over Their Illicit Relationship

A 33-year-old Indian man allegedly killed himself after his ex-girlfriend called him saying her husband had found out about their illicit relationship and had decided to end his life after naming the victim in his suicide note.

The victim, identified as Arun, a transport in-charge in a private company, was found dead Saturday, July 16, inside a lodge room near Nelamangala Town in Bengaluru city.

According to local media reports, Arun was in love with a woman, Pooja (name changed) and the duo had decided to get married after the wedding of Arun’s sister.

However, Pooja got married to another man, Shravan (name changed), who was chosen by her parents.

Even after the wedding, Pooja and Arun continued their relationship, reports said.

It didn’t take that long for Shravan to realize that his wife was cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend.

Shravan reportedly forced Pooja to call Arun on the phone and tell him that her husband has found out about their relationship and had decided to end his life, according to reports.

Fearing repercussions, Arun reserved a room in a lodge and ended his life on Saturday.

The cause of death remains unclear. The body has been sent to a medical examiner’s office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.

The Nelamangala Town police have registered a case. No arrests have been reported at the time of this writing.

In another incident, a cab driver in India allegedly killed himself three days after his wife eloped with their neighbor.

Kavinder lived with his family in Kasan village in India’s Uttar Pradesh, where he worked for a private company. To make ends meet, he also worked night shifts driving a cab in the city.

On the 10th of this month, Kavinder's wife Reena eloped with Ramveer, their neighbor, according to local media reports.

Kavinder was deeply disturbed by what his wife had done. He reportedly approached the police and filed a complaint against his wife and her alleged lover.

On Wednesday, July 13, Kavinder’s brother, Santhosh Kumar was alerted about his brother’s suicide attempt.

When Kumar rushed to the family’s home he found Kavinder unresponsive on the floor and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

Kavinder was pronounced dead at the hospital, reports said.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Kavinder's wife Reena and her lover Ramveer.

The whereabouts of the eloping couple remain unclear at this time, a police source said.
