An undocumented American detained at the Krome Detention Center in Miami has shared a series of TikTok videos showing the conditions he and others continue to endure after they were detained by U.S. immigration officials.
The man, who goes by osiriss982 on the social media app, has shared four videos from inside the center. In them, men are seen sleeping on floors and in chairs. He shared there are sick detainees with no access to medical care and men who have been inside the detention center for more than 30 days and have yet to be processed.
In two of this videos, the detainee implored the internet to make the videos go viral and directly addressed Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum to ask for help.
"Many, many Mexicans here are facing discrimination. Venezuelan and Guatemalan brothers too. Help us, please. They won't let us speak to anyone. We're not allowed phone calls. We can't do anything at all," the man shared in tears.
Michael McWhorter, a popular social media personality who goes by TizzyEnt, reshared the video on TikTok and condemned how the undocumented Americans are being treated.
"This is inhumane. This is not OK. They are not criminals," McWhorter stated. "Being an undocumented immigrant is a civil offense, it is not a criminal offense. You can still treat people humanely."
