One of the four robbers who killed a child under the age of 17 during a robbery that took place in the Villa Cerro sector on Tuesday, Nov. 15, afternoon, was killed this Thursday, Nov. 17, when he came up against a patrol from the Department of Criminal Investigations (Dicrim) in the municipality of Higüey, province of La Altagracia, the National Police reported.

Starlyn Núñez Rodríguez, better known as El Trucho or Jonfy, has been identified as the deceased robber.

He was being sought by arrest warrant No.04689-2022, after the death of Vidal Alexis Martínez, while the gang was trying to strip the child of his belongings in the middle of a robbery at the Fla RD Vape store, in the Villa Cerro sector of that demarcation.

The official police report states that Núñez Rodríguez was shot multiple times before being confronted by a patrol car that was pursuing him.

According to reports, Rodriguez was in possession of a 9mm pistol-style handgun with an unreadable brand and serial number, along with its charger, three capsules, and a Samsung cell phone.

Additionally, the uniformed reported that William Manuel González De La Rosa and Robert Bonilla Castro, who was involved with the deceased in the robbery that claimed the life of a minor on Nov. 17, were detained.

According to the police, the inmates were riding in a white Kia Picanto car registered to Manuel Martínez, who admitted to renting the car to William Manuel González De La Rosa when he was questioned (detained).

Whereas, after being apprehended by law enforcement, Willian Manuel González De La Rosa said that he had indeed rented the car, but had given it to his friends so they could use it. He claimed to have been paid 1,500 pesos per day as rent for the car.

According to reports, the body of Starlyn Núñez Rodríguez was sent to the Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), located in San Pedro de Macorís.

The National Police reported that it is continuing the search for Jennifer Mieses, who is on the run, while the case remains under investigation.
