One of the most popular franchises in the gaming world, the Madden NFL series continues to sell at a fast rate each and every year as gamers look to play with some of the top players and skill sets the NFL sees on a year-by-year basis.

The addition of the All-25 Team in the upcoming EA Sports video game "Madden NFL 25" has sports gaming fans everywhere excited about the soon-to-be-released game.

Selecting some of the top players from the successful history of the video game series was a top priority heading into the Anniversary year and although the task of picking only a handful of players from a game that featured the best players in football was certainly a challenge, "Madden NFL 25" is off to a tremendous start with the early list of names.

With John Madden serving as head coach of the anniversary squad, EA announced Marshall Faulk and Mike Alstott as the first players chosen to the All-25 squad.

Faulk was rated a 99 running back in "Madden NFL 2003" as a member of the St. Louis Rams while Alstott -- one of the best fullbacks in NFL history - also earned a rating of 99 during "Madden NFL 2000" while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Looking to fill out the primary offensive position, EA Sports elected to go with current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick. As a member of the Atlanta Falcons in 2004, Vick was rated an overall 90 in "Madden NFL 2004" with a 95 speed and 98 throw power rating.

Kahlil Thomas of International Digital Times noted that the video game version of Michael Vick from 2004 was easily one of the most dynamic players in the history of the game since the player could beat opponents in multiple ways.

It's insane to think that one player can change the outcome and strategy of both teams in a video game. In Madden '04, Michael Vick was that player.

In the history of Madden, you never had a quarterback that was proficient at throwing the ball deep with the ability to scramble and outrun every person in your defensive secondary like Vick.

With a 95 speed rating and 98 throwing power, there hadn't been a player like Vick before Madden '04 and there hasn't been one since Madden '04.

In addition to choosing Faulk, Alstott and Vick, the All-25 offensive playmakers will also consist of "Madden NFL 2004" receiver Brian Finneran of the Atlanta Falcons, 2009 Randy Moss of the New England Patriots and 2010 tight end Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers.

2008 Devin Hester of the Chicago Bears was chosen as the return specialist with Adam Vinatieri (2004, Patriots) and Shane Lechler (2012, Oakland Raiders) taking on the kicking and punting roles respectively.

The anniversary team's starting defensive ends are listed as 2006 Julius Peppers from the Carolina Panthers and 2007 Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney.

Deion Sanders (1995, San Francisco 49ers) and Champ Bailey (2005, Denver Broncos) will be the cornerback representatives with the late Sean Taylor of the 2006 Washington Redskins and Brian Dawkins of the 1999 Philadelphia Eagles taking on the safety roles.

Starting offensive tackles and the center position will be released on August 7 with the guard positions going public the following day.

Anniversary team linebackers will be revealed on August 9 with the 2 defensive tackle spots being announced on August 10.

'Madden NFL 25' will officially be released on August 27 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
