The new year is quickly sneaking up on us! But not so fast, 2016, as we still need to cook the turkey and celebrate Thanksgiving. The festive holiday is just around the corner and nothing says tradition like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
This year, the event that is celebrated every year in New York City and aired live on Thanksgiving Day morning, will celebrate its 89 years. The Radio City Rockettes will help kick off the festivities that include more than 8,000 participants such as clowns, balloon handlers and marching bands. However, a star-studded lineup will also travel through Manhattan, performing their latest hits.
The two stars that we're looking forward to at this year's parade are powerhouse diva Mariah Carey and bachata crooner Prince Royce. We're still dreaming of last year's parade that included Becky G and Romeo Santos. The Latino stars will be joined by other confirmed artists such as Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson, Cirque du Soleil, Daughtry, Andra Day, Andy Grammer, Sandra Lee, Shawn Mendes, MercyMe, Mipso, Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell, Jennifer Nettles, NHL legends Mark and Marty Howe, Jake Owen, Panic! at the Disco, Plain White T's, Rachel Platten, Questlove with the cast and the Muppets of "Sesame Street," the cast of Broadway's "School of Rock," Trey Songz, Jordin Sparks, Chica and the gang from Sprout and Train.
The 89th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airs live from 9 a.m. to noon (in all time zones) on November 26 via NBC.
