For its MacBook Pro 2016, Apple is reportedly working on major upgrades that would give the Cupertino giant’s laptop-manufacturing competitors a run for their money.
Since Apple is going all out this year, several rumors have emerged online claiming that the company is going to release a MacBook Pro 2016 edition before the year ends. Apple Insider has even stated that the positive sign that there would be a new MacBook Pro is the dwindling price offers of the existing installments in the market.
There are reports claiming that Apple is going to make a separate launch event for the MacBook Pro 2016 in Novemner to give it its own spotlight, instead of just sharing the spotlight with the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Pro, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Mini 5 and the iPad Pro 2 this September.
In terms of specs and features, Apple is rumored to be building a powerful laptop that will be rocking the most advanced technologies available in the laptop industry.
Per the rumors, there would still be two variants of the MacBook Pro 2016 in terms of size, a 13-inch version and a 15-inch version. Both variants are said to arrive with the Cupertino tech company’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor technology and OLED touch bar. While the Touch ID is for better security, the OLED touch bar is going to serve as the replacement of the physical function keys of the device.
Surprisingly, it seems that Apple is also removing the 3.5mm headphone jack from the new MacBook Pro iteration and push for its users to rely on lighting port-compatible audio peripherals, according to MacWorld.
Speaking of audio, Apple is said to be redesigning the MacBook to accommodate the OLED panel. Thus, the speaker grilles that are traditionally located at the back of the laptop will be moved to either side of the device.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected to follow in the footsteps of the 12-inch MacBook by having a USB-C port. Apple is investing in USB-C ports because they transfer files quickly, BGR reported.
Another interesting bit about the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 device is the inclusion of 4G LTE connectivity into the device, so that users can stay connected even without Wi-Fi connection available.
Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro installment is going to be a powerhouse, so there could be more upgraded specs and features than the ones above.
