Luz María Doria, producer of Despierta América, author, and motivational speaker, fully supports the 'Days to Shine' conference, which will be held in the United States for the first time on October 25 and 26 in Miami.
This empowering event will have a star-studded lineup, including the renowned Emilio Estefan as a special guest.
In an interview with ENSTARZ ¡Latino! and The Latin Times, Luz María revealed the emotional connection she shares with Days to Shine and its creators, Evelyn Betancourt and Victoria Naut.
"I lived it," said the Colombian producer, known for her selective endorsements. I didn't get an email proposal or anything like that." Days to Shine was the first platform that offered her a space to promote her debut book, La Mujer de Mis Sueños (The Woman of My Dreams). Though nearly a decade has passed since then, Doria still gets emotional when recalling the energy of the dozens of women gathered in Santo Domingo to hear her story.
"It was the first time I stood on a stage with my book to talk about my journey," she recalled. "One thing that amazed me when I arrived was seeing how women had created a real sisterhood... I thought, 'Oh my God, if only this had existed in Cartagena 20 or 30 years ago. How many mistakes I could have avoided.'"
Luz María is eager to help other women avoid those same mistakes. She will be fully engaged at the Miami event alongside Emilio Estefan and, of course, Evelyn and Victoria.
VIP Guests at 'Days to Shine'
The conference kicks off with a bang on Friday. Luz María will interview renowned Argentine producer Victoria Alonso, who is publicly appearing after some time away from the spotlight. Alonso is considered one of the most influential Latinas in Hollywood, having been involved in the production of Marvel blockbusters like the Avengers saga, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and many more.
In addition to Alonso, the conference will feature panelists such as Marlene Montaner (director, producer, author, and wife of singer Ricardo Montaner), Chiquinquirá Delgado, motivational speakers Margarita Pasos and Pilar Sordo, and several cast members from Despierta América, including Karla Martínez, Jomari Goyso, Francisca Lachapel, and Jessica Rodríguez.
For Luz María, Evelyn, and Victoria, the mission of Days to Shine is to inspire and equip women with tools for success. "We must help each other," they agree. Beyond motivation, the event will also offer workshops on beauty, finances, self-care, and practical advice. They emphasize that women's lives encompass many aspects, all of which are important.
The Fight Against Fear
However, if they had to distill the conference's goal into a few words, Luz María and her allies highlight helping women disarm the paralyzing effect of fear with life tools.
"I still have fear, but I don't let it stop me," Luz María affirmed. At Days to Shine, these women aim to guide participants to the point where fear drives action rather than paralysis.
