Univision continues to make efforts in the bio-series business announcing the production of a project based on the life of Mexican superstar, Luis Miguel. News comes after the network successfully launched “Su Nombre Era Dolores, La Jenn Que Yo Conocí,” based on Jenni Rivera’s rise to stardom and her untimely death.
The Spanish-language network announced that Pedro Torres would serve as Executive Producer with Curiosity Media. He has worled closely with Luis Miguel over the last 30 years creating with his most iconic music videos,
“I am honored to work with Univision to bring to life the special, one-of-a-kind story of Luis Miguel’s musical career and his passion for life,” said Torres.
“This is going to be an unforgettable series about one of the biggest artists of our time,” said Lourdes Diaz, president of Entertainment, Univision Communications Inc. “This series is part of our efforts to bring Univision’s young and loyal fan base a robust line-up of highly quality programs whether they be unscripted realities, gritty crime dramas or biopics, such as this series on the legendary Luis Miguel.”
The Luis Miguel series does not have a premiere date nor production start date. This project is an alternative to the one the singer is contributing to with MGM and Mark Burnett that was announced earlier this year.
"It has taken me a long time to tell my story and I have been looking for the right team to tell it the way it should be told," Luis Miguel said in a statement about the bio-series.
