Luis Miguel is always the victim of rumors surrounding his love life and we have come to expect it. The 43-year-old singer lives a discreet life and tries to stay away from the limelight for the most part. The latest news was that he had died after being hospitalized in Los Angeles following a failed plastic surgery operation. It turns out that it was false information and in bad taste as this was news from back in 2010, which was not accurate then either. LuisMi's brother, Alejandro Basteri, has shut down the rumors and seemed upset after reading the gross allegations. "It is incredible that they revive stories from the past that were ALWAYS false," he tweeted. "Don't let pseudo journalists that live off of lies fool you."

Various media outlets ran with the false information as it broke without researching its veracity. They reported the singer had gotten liposuction and facial work, being hospitalized 12 days at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills, California, after his body was contaminated by bacteria, according to Sexenio. It was Euge Cabral, host of radio show "La Hora De Luis Miguel," who first denied the rumors and stated its inaccuracy. "Old and false news about Luis Miguel that they report as the truth," she wrote on Twitter. "How can they alarm readers picking up an old article? It is very ugly what they do. They don't work!" Cabral shared an article from Zocalo on her timeline, but now the story has been taken down after it was reported false.

The radio host was extremely upset as other news outlets picked up the information and reported it as truth like Diario Basta. "You are not informing yourselves! Is that how the media works? Picking up old stories? You are a shame," Cabral lashed out on the social network. "It is really alarming that a pseudo journalist revives a false story and the media give it an echo." With social media prominent in the daily life of its users, stories like this spread like wildfire wether they are true or false. Chespirito has been the center of death rumors for many years on Twitter and family members have had to come out and deny it.
