“Lucifer” Season 5, which began filming on Sept. 6, is set to be the final installment of the urban fantasy show despite the cast thinking that there would be six seasons of the series. The finale of Season 4 ended with Lucifer Morningstar back in Hell, leaving Detective Chloe Decker on Earth, wondering if she’d ever see him again.
With that cliffhanger, avid fans are left wondering how the final season will play out. Thankfully, D.B. Woodside, who took on the role of the angel Amenadiel, hosted a Twitter Q&A on Sept. 2, and some answers now exist.
“I haven’t done a Twitter q & a in quite a long time. Let’s go for it. Ask me anything. _ #AskDB,” he tweeted. He then addressed questions and ultimately hinted that the fifth season of “Lucifer” would have a happy ending.
“When asked by a fan if Lucifer will have a ‘happy ending,’ Woodside simply replied ‘Yes,’” wrote Express. The 50-year-old American actor also happened to reveal that Lucifer and Chloe would be reunited in the end — and that’s all that was said about them.
With regard to his character, Amenadiel, he revealed that he’s set to have an “appropriate ending.” He also joked about Lesley-Ann Brandt’s Mazikeen having been killed off early in “Lucifer” Season 5 Episode 1.
“Why did they have to kill Maze off in the first 5 mins? Big mistake @jkning BIG. MISTAKE,” was his response when asked about the episode, which is titled “Really Sad Devil Guy.”
Meanwhile, when asked more about the show’s finale, Woodside said that while the writers already have an ending in place, viewers should still prepare for the worst. “Things change all the time,” he commented.
Sixteen episodes have been laid out for the final season, but there’s no news on whether or not these will be shown in two parts. As of the time of writing, there’s no official release date for “Lucifer” Season 5 just yet, but given the supernatural show’s release pattern, viewers can expect it to hit small screens in summer 2020 at the earliest.
