Lucero will start doing some damage control after the animal hunting photo scandal that tarnished her image and became a social media viral sensation. The 44-year-old Mexican singer and actress did resume her social media Twitter updating but has not faced public life since then, but will do so next week. Lucero has been booked as a guest on gossip show "El Gordo y la Flaca" to clear things up and help change public perception. The interview will air during a special primetime week of shows at 7pm/6c on Univision. It is going to be a must see event to see what the "Soy Tu Dueña" actress will say and how she defends herself from the situation. The audience will ultimate have the last word, but this will surely help to show her in a positive light.
That interview will be done on the U.S. side which will most likely have repercussions in her home country of Mexico, where Televisa is taking some measures as well. Undoubtedly, Lucero is one of the biggest telenovela stars that started appearing on-screen since she was a child. As a way to remember the good work she has done over the years, Televisa will rerun "Soy Tu Dueña." The telenovela where she has Fernando Colunga as a co-lead was a major success in its primetime slot. The story about a woman that gets left at the altar the day of her wedding turns cold-hearted and leaves her city life to establish herself in a ranch where she is known as "La Dueña."
Rumor has it that producer José Alberto Castro wants to cast Lucero in the leading role for "La Malquerida." Many actresses have been linked to this telenovela like Victoria Ruffo, Silvia Navarro and Cecilia Suarez, but a final decision has not been made. The reason for the delay in announcing the lead actress is due to Castro trying to work out a deal with Lucero, LatinTimes learned. Production of the soap is set to begin in the coming weeks with a target premiere of May. The chess pieces are moving and only time will tell if Lucero will be able to overcome all the negativity that surrounded her persona earlier this year. Do you think Lucero will be forgiven and be able to shine bright again?
