"Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta" reality star Mimi Faust has finally come clean about her sex tape release. Monday June 22, Mimi dropped a bombshell about the truth of her sex tape release revealing it had indeed been staged all along.
If you recall the major drama from season four of the reality series revolved around Nikko and Mimi's sex tape leaking online. The story the couple gave at the time said a bag of Nikko's containing the sex tape had been stolen at the airport and whoever took the tape watched it and sold it to the biggest porn company around, Vivid Entertainment.
Until now Mimi has stood by that story to remain an innocent party through the entire ordeal but the guilt must've been weighing on her conscience as she finally revealed the truth. Even before the episode aired Mimi sat down and talked with Us Weekly to reveal exactly what happened.
“Stupid decision? Yes. Dumb. Stupid. Wish I could take it back? Abso-f—king-lutely,” she told Us Weekly. “But at the time, I went along with it.”
She also revealed how the tape got into Vivid's hands, how the lie came to be and even mentioned that there were several marketing plans put in place for the video.
Since the news broke Mimi has remained quiet about the entire ordeal until now. The reality star took to Instagram to open up to her many followers and fans about why she came clean. Mimi wrote:
“Didn't know I owed so many people so much explaining... But seriously, this was for me, not for anyone else. Support me, don't support me, won't change a thing! I'm gonna keep moving and keep growing. #MimiTime,” Mimi captioned a photo of herself at Us Weekly’s studio.
Fans of Faust are torn. Some feel empathetic to her situation, while many feel deceived that she lied for so long. Whatever the case is Mimi seems intent on moving forward and being truthful. However, we are dying to see how Nikko fires back because we're sure he won't stay quiet for too long.
