Lori Loughlin loses projects amid a massive college admission scandal involving some elite parents. Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli’s makeup line was dropped by beauty product company Sephora, and fans lashed out at the media influencer.
In the wake of her involvement in the recent scandal, Hallmark announced a few hours ago that it would be cutting ties with Loughlin, who stars as Abigail Stanton in the Hallmark drama series “When It Calls A Heart.” Crown Media, Hallmark’s parent company, released the statement and added that the company was saddened with Loughlin’s allegations.
The show is currently airing its Season 6 but earlier announced that it will not air an episode on March 17 due to few creative evaluations. It seems that the company will be excluding productions where Loughlin was involved.
Meanwhile, Netflix has not yet released an official statement regarding their stand on the “Fuller House” recurring guest star. “She is toast, it’s over,” an insider told Deadline, pertaining to Loughlin’s status in the American sitcom. The series is not currently in production, but a source told TMZ that the production has no plans of getting her back for Season 5.
The 54-year-old actress and producer is not the only one affected by the scandal on college admission fraud. The 20-year-old social media celebrity Olivia Jade Giannulli, Loughlin’s daughter, received several backlash from her fans. While Giannulli is not directly involved in the scandal, fans accused her of enjoying the benefits of her parents’ crimes.
Many asked Sephora to drop its collaboration with Giannulli’s makeup line. The fans were heard as the company announced that it’s removing products from its stores. Giannulli’s page from Sephora’s website has since been taken down.
“After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately,” stated an email sent to Vox.
Loughlin and husband Mossimo Guinnulli, Mossimo brand owner, posted a $1 million bail in line with the bribery case. The couple allegedly paid a bribe of $500,000 and falsified documents to have their daughters admitted to the University of the Southern California. The cheating scandal also involved “Desperate Housewife” actress Felicity Huffman.
