“Charlie’s Angels” will be best remembered as that TV show that always made sure that the main cast involved three lovely women. The actresses who were called upon to take that role changed through six seasons with Jaclyn Smith being the lone original member.
On a sad note, one of the last “Angels” who died was Tanya Roberts, better known as Victoria Leigh Blum in real life. The veteran actress died on Jan. 4, 2020, after falling critically ill due to a urinary tract infection (UTI). Things just got worse considering Roberts had a history of hepatitis C.
Smith was among the first to react to Roberts’ death. She mentioned how the actress brought joy to so many people and recalled how they worked together on the last season of “Charlie’s Angels” via Instagram.
“Tanya joined #CharliesAngels for the final season, closing it out as it was initially intended with a red head, a brunette and a blonde. She brought joy to so many people and had a career spanning decades. Good bye angel, Rest In Peace,” Smith’s post read.
Not all may have gotten the chance to see the original “Charlie’s Angels” which started with Smith, the late Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson. Ladd came in as a replacement for Fawcett in season 2 while Roberts replaced Shelley Hack after the fifth season.
But Roberts went on to appear in several other shows and films. She appeared in some episodes of other successful shows like “The Love Boat” and “Fantasy Island.” As a regular, she had starring roles on “That 70s’s Show” for three seasons.
On the big screen, she had roles in “The Beastmaster,” “Sheena,” and the James Bond flick “A View to a Kill.”
Roberts is a big loss to the people who were able to follow her throughout her entertainment career. But in the case of “Charlie’s Angels” fans, she will always be remembered as the last red-haired female to appear in the TV series.
