Reward amount has been increased to $150,000 to help Lina Sadar Khil, the three-year-old missing girl who was last seen on Monday, Dec. 20, between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm at a park on the 9400 block of Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio, Texas.
According to the local officials, the girl may be in "grave, immediate danger." Her family reported her as missing when she disappeared from a park near their home. A department spokesperson told ABC News that there is no indication that the little girl is with a family member. Her family members believe she was abducted. Khil was playing with other kids at the playground when her mother said she stepped away for a moment and when she returned, Khil was gone.
Khil is fair, about four feet tall and has a weight of 55 pounds. She has straight, shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. Police stated that she was last seen wearing a black jacket, red dress and black shoes.
San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) Chief William McManus said they are still treating the case as a missing person case and not an abduction. However, McManus added that he did request the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) child abduction unit for help. Police also released a video on YouTube showing Khil on Christmas Eve in order to help with the investigation, and in locating the missing girl.
The Islamic Center of San Antonio reportedly increased its reward to $100,000 for anyone who can provide information for the investigation of Khil's whereabouts. Crime Stoppers of San Antonio is also currently offering $50,000 for any details that may lead to the arrest of people involved in her disappearance.
Khil's family arrived in San Antonio in 2019. According to her father, Riaz Sardar Khil, they are refugees from Afghanistan.
SAPD teamed up with the FBI in the search for Khil. Authorities were said to be going door to door at the apartment complex. Eagle's Flight Advocacy and Outreach organized an interfaith prayer vigil for the Khil family at the St. Francis Episcopal Church pavilion on Bluemel Road.
SAPD asks anyone with information about Lina's disappearance to call the Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
