Following the George Zimmerman trial verdict this weekend, the United States has erupted into protests and tributes to the slain 17-year-old victim, Trayvon Martin. Most demonstrations have been peaceful protests against Zimmerman's acquittal or candle light vigils in memory of Martin, however it seems that some people have simply had enough. A woman in California was so angry over a song dedication for Trayvon Martin that she actually physically attacked the singer.

Dinalynn Andrews Potter attacked Lester Chambers, the 73-year-old legendary singer at his outdoor concert. Chambers was performing at the Hayward Russell City Blues Festival in Hayward, California.

Lester Chambers of the Chambers Brothers had dedicated his performance of "People Get Ready" to Trayvon Martin when Potter, 43, stormed the stage and physically assaulted him mid-song. Potter climbed on stage and delivered a vicious shove to the elderly performer. Chambers did not realize what exactly was happening and continued to croon until he felt the impact of Potter's hit and feel straight back with quite a loud crash.

Potter was wrestled to the ground and subdued by security on stage, and Chambers was wheeled away to an ambulance. As the video shows, he was still in good spirits, even flashing a peace sign to the camera. A photo posted to Facebook by his son, Dylan Chambers, shows Chambers' injuries: a "bruised rib muscle and nerve damage and he is sore all over," wrote Dylan.

Fuse interviewed Chambers following the shocking incident, "I was asking for peace," he explains. "She got in my face and called me all kinds of MFs, saying that I started all this."

Potter was arrested was arrested on suspicion of battery, cited and released from jail, with the charges still pending. According to Billboard, Chambers' family is pushing authorities to file hate crime charges.
