After being one of the many panelists at the Billboard Latin Music Conference and Awards, where she and singer Chiquis Rivera talked about women in music, Leslie Grace continues to work hard. In fact, the 21-year-old songstress recently dropped her new single "Aire" and it's all the rage.
In her new record, Grace ditches her bachata roots for a sensual urban track. The song, according to Billboard, is a reflection of the evolution of Grace's music, which kicked off in 2009. Joining Grace in her fresh production is Colombian urban artist Maluma. The Dominican songstress and the "Borro Cassette" singer already met up in Miami to begin filming the official music video for "Aire."
This is the second time that the two young artists collaborate. Grace is featured on Maluma's album "Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy" in the track "Tengo un amor." "Aire" is the first single off of Grace's upcoming studio album following "Pasíon" (2009), "Leslie Grace" (2013) and the EP "Lloviendo Estrellas" (2015). Billboard reports the album will release in July and counts with songs composed by Mau and Ricky Montaner, sons of the renowned pop artist Ricardo Montaner.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Colombian singer continues his journey in Miami. Not only is he filming the "Aire" video clip with Leslie, but he also made a special appearance in the Carlos Vives concert on May 6 at the American Airlines Arena. There, the "El Perdedor" singer joined Vives in a couple of songs, including the heartfelt track "Tierra del Olvido."
This week, Maluma joins Franco De Vita, Tommy Torres and Mariana Vega for a benefit concert in support of the earthquake victims in Ecuador. The South American country was shaken by a devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake on April 16, leaving a death toll of over 520 dead and more than 1,500 injured. Nearly a month after the shattering incident, music and TV artists will gather at a benefit concert to raise money for the country.
"Proceeds generated through ticket sales will be donated to the United Nations Development Programme who will administer these to those in Ecuador who need it most," according to the venue's official website. The benefit concert is called "Ecuador Aqui Estoy" (Ecuador, I'm here) and will take place 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 11 at the BankUnited Center in Miami, Fla. That same night he is expected to attend the ASCAP Latin Music Awards in Miami.
