Leonardo DiCaprio's next film project is casting Latinos in San Diego, California

If you're a Latino living in California and your dream has always been to work side by side with Leonardo DiCaprio, then there's exciting news for you coming out of San Diego.

DiCaprio's upcoming film, directed by Oscar-nominated Paul Thomas Anderson, is currently seeking background actors of Latino descent for several night scenes to be filmed later this month.

TV Azteca reports that casting directors are looking for Latino men, women, and children to play extras, with telephone interviews being conducted from July 21 to 24. No previous acting experience is required, making this opportunity accessible to a wide range of people. Authenticity is particularly valued for the scenes filmed in San Diego.

The acting gig pays $136 per eight-hour workday, with the possibility of additional hours. Some actors may receive extra compensation if the film crew decides to use their personal vehicles during filming. The movie, currently being filmed under the working title BC Project, is a high-profile production featuring a stellar cast which includes DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Benicio Del Toro. Although most of the movie's plot is being kept under wraps, Dateline recently reported that the film takes place in "a contemporary setting and it is the most commercial one that Anderson has attempted, with commensurate budget" of around $100 million.
