Good news fans of “The Legend of Korra”! Co-creator of the hit-animated series, Bryan Konietzko, has revealed what the villains of “Book Three: Change” will look like, well sorta. He released a new image via his Tumblr blog, which featured three mysterious figures in long robes with a non-visible symbol on the robes. Konietzko wrote:
In color correction suites they have these cool scopes and mini monitors that look like something you’d find in a vintage submarine. Usually the patterns that appear on them are indiscernible, but if an image of a face is particularly clear and contrasty a ghostly visage will emerge. Here is such an image appearing in the RGB parade on the waveform monitor of the Book 3 villain.
It is unknown who the bad guys are this time around, but rumors suggest that it could be the White Lotus. Based on a leaked promo video it looked as if Korra was fighting members of the White Lotus.
Meanwhile, Morgan Bannon of “Avatar the Last Airbender” Online believes the mysterious photo alludes to the Council of Five. The Council of Five is a group of generals from the Earth Kingdom Army in the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" era. It is not entirely clear whether such an entity still exists in "The Legend of Korra.” This seems more than likely the case as it’s been said we will see more of the Earth Kingdom in season three.
News on “The Legend of Korra” has been pretty scarce lately. Before this reveal, Konietzo released a few more production stills featuring Lin Beifong, Jinora and the Avatar gang.
The official release date for “The Legend of Korra” has yet to be announced but many believe that season three will premiere alongside the release of season two’s DVD Blu-Ray release this summer.
