With "The Legend of Korra" premiere date closer and closer to announcement we are starting to see a lot more rumors and news. The latest rumors include an incredibly sad death and a new characters introduction. The rumors say Katara, who had a more prominent role in "Avatar: The Last Airbender," will die in season three of Korra. The rumors also suggest Zuko's daughter, the fire lord will have more face time as fans will get to meet her and learn more about the character and her story.
While the series is geared towards a younger audience it wouldn't be surprising to see the death of a major character especially after last seasons dark themes of terrorism and more. If you recall in Book Two the major storyline involved bringing out the great harmony between spirits and humans and what more than the death of a beloved character could bring about tragedy and chaos? KPopStar's website also points out that Katara is the eldest chatacter in the series so perhaps season three of "The Legend of Korra" will be her time.
Another rumor is the return of Zuko! Co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino have confirmed that Book Three: Change will take place primarily in the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation, so in what capacity we might see Zuko will depend entirely on how much time the storyline will play out in the Fire Nation. However, any time spent in the Fire Nation will surely grant us access to one character, The Fire Lord! Who just so happens to be Zuko's daughter.
Konietzko hints at us seeing Zuko's daughter writing on his Tumblr blog, "There are women world leaders in the Avatar world during Korra's present: Zuko's daughter is the Fire Lord, and there is an Earth Queen ruling the Earth Kingdom." Meanwhile it has been revealed that the production team is almost halfway done with the series. Production team members revealed that as of early February the team had completed six episodes and since the season is only 13 episodes long the Korra team is working hard at getting season three complete.
