Following a three-day sting operation in Ohio, Cleveland Browns linebacker Quentin Groves and at least 14 other individuals were arrested last week for solicitation of a prostitute, according to Yahoo Sports.
The police report released -- according to Cleveland Scene -- detailed the events leading up to the arrest of the six-year NFL pro.
The 28-year-old native of Greenville, Mississippi reportedly responded to an ad involving "full service," according to the report. "He agreed to one hour of time for $100 and was told that anal would be an additional $20," the police statement continued.
Upon arriving to the Homestead Guest Studios in Beachwood, Ohio, where he was to meet with the prostitute, Groves was nabbed by police officers shortly after entering the building.
Groves was expecting to be serviced by a prostitute he spoke with on the phone, but that person turned out to be an undercover police officer involved in the sting. Deadspin.com is reporting that police seized a box of condoms and over $190 as evidence.
Quentin Groves was selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Traded in 2010, Groves would spend time with the Oakland Raiders before signing as an unrestricted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2012. Upon becoming a free agent at the end of the 2012 campaign, Groves signed with the Cleveland Browns this past March.
His current contract with the Browns is a two-year deal worth $2.8 million.
To make matters worse for Groves and his loved ones, his twitter account shows him as being a married man with two children.
He is set to appear in court on May 10 and will eventually sit down with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the legal matter. Roger Goodell is known for taking a harsh stance on any legal matters involving the NFL and this situation surrounding Groves certainly qualifies for a sit-down with the commissioner.
For now though, Groves needs to focus on his legal troubles and deal with any potential NFL punishment down the road.
