It seems like the feud between the Sodi Miranda sisters will not end anytime soon. In the middle of a media tour to promote her show “Amantes en Concierto,” Laura Zapata stopped by “Hoy” in Guadalajara and she wasn’t coy when asked about her sister Thalía’s recent star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame given to her for her trajectory in music and TV. “What trajectory?” Zapata replied. “For someone who has done three telenovelas? It’s something that I don’t want to talk about. She should be getting a plaque for being the worst granddaughter,” she said, referring to the ongoing issues with Zapata and her sisters over the care of their grandmother Eva Mange.
Zapata even sparked more controversy when she publicly said that she doesn’t consider Thalía or any of the Sodis (Ernestina, Gabriela and Federica) her sisters. “Just because someone has your blood, doesn’t mean they’re family. Family is the people who stand by you, support you, call you, who creates bonds of love and respect. That’s not my family,” the actress went on. Of course, Thalía doesn’t speak about her family issues. “Family matters should stay between the family, that’s the only thing I have to say,” she had stated previously.
As for Laura Zapata, she’s working all the way through the New Year after returning to music with this concert that features many of Mexico’s best singers. She might also surprise us next year with a much awaited return to telenovelas as our favorite villain. She might be featured in “La Gata.” “The part is still in the talks, but it’s a great character, the villain of the story, and people really want to see me play it.”
