The third annual Latino Comics Expo is coming to the Los Angeles area for the first time this upcoming August 17 and 18. The convention was founded in 2011 by Ricardo Padilla and Javier Hernandez to highlight the creativity of comic book creators that celebrate the Latino culture.
After taking place at the world famous Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco, the expo heads south this year and will take place at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach. The expo will span over two days and feature panels and workshops on how to make your own comics and panels with some of the best artists.
Over 50 artists, creators and vendors will be on site to expose their works of art. Scheduled to appear is Raul Aguirre Jr. ("Man vs Art"), Lalo Alcaraz ("La Cucaracha"), Frederick Aldama ("Your Brain on Latino Comics"), Carlos Avila ("Tales of a Masked Man"), Erik Arreaga ("Phour-Nyne-Guy") and many more (see complete list down below).
The Expo will take place on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday August 18 from 11am to 5pm. Pricing for the Saturday event is as follows: General Admission $9, Seniors and Students $6 and Children under 12 go in completely free. If you want to wait to come in on Sunday, everybody will go in FREE. It doesn't get any better than that, does it?
