Puerto Rican Latin superstar Bad Bunny announced his collaboration with Rio Grande Valley natives Grupo Frontera on Sunday through an Instagram post.
The new single, "un x100to," was released Monday.
The Latin superstar spoke with Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1 about his experience with Grupo Frontera.
"I love the way that they [Grupo Frontera] perform and they made it with the heart just like me," Bad Bunny said in the interview. "I've been in love with this whole movement, this new Mexican music. I think it's beautiful what is happening. It's very necessary because the world needed, I think the world needed to know more about all culture, the Latin culture. Another perspective is not only reggaeton and perreo and urban music, there are also other very beautiful and very wild genres of Latin music."
The six-member Hispanic group began their journey in 2022 out of deep south Texas as a pastime among friends. The group decided to upload cover videos on YouTube in early 2022.
In May 2022, Grupo Frontera released their version of a famous song "No se va" by a Latin pop band called Morat.
The cover has more than 156 million views and is one of the most watched videos on YouTube.
"No se va" became so popular on Tik Tok that a dancing trend was created.
Grupo Frontera posted on their YouTube channel a series of Tik Tok videos of fans dancing to their trend.
