Larry Hernández and his associate Jesús Solís were charged with kidnapping, third degree assault and battery by mob after the alleged victim, identified as José/Jesús Andrade, reported the happenings to the Newberry authorities. According to the Newberry Observer, Andrade told the police he was held against his will, wrapped in clear plastic wrap and beaten by Hernández and Solís.
Several sources have reported that the Mexican singer was unhappy with the amount of money he received from a gig he took at a restaurant in South Carolina. The promoter in charge, Roberto Gómez, allegedly gave Hernández a quantity that was way lower to the one they had previously agreed on.
“I’m ok, I have no problems with anyone and what’s happened so far is in the hands of the authorities and the lawyers, who are doing their job. In the police reports you can see all the details and the people that are involved are mentioned there. I don’t wish anything bad happening to anyone, “ Gómez told Univision’s “Sal y Pimienta.”
Supposedly, the victim, Jesús Andrade (previously identified as José), was working with Gómez on the night of the event and according to Onésimo Reyes, a restaurant owner who provided food for the night, Andrade was never forced to leave the Salon Pachuca that night:
“They came saying that ‘El Gordo’ had been kidnapped, his name is Chuy, but truth to be told I never saw the man being kidnapped because it was like 15 minutes. I saw him in the car, I never saw him being tied down because he was riding at the front of the bus. The next day they came in saying that they beat him up, he came in with a video where Larry doesn’t let him get out of the bus because he needed his money,” Reyes told Univision’s “El Gordo Y La Flaca” during an exclusive interview.
On Sunday, Andrade agreed to an interview with Telemundo’s “Al Rojo Vivo” where he shared explicit details about what happened on August 16. During the interview, he declared that his reason behind his allegations is justice; he wants to set an example to those who find themselves in the same situation in the future.
Police reports confirmed the existence of the videos previously mentioned in the Reyes’ interview and they will be presented on the day of the trial in Newberry, South Carolina.
